They are all pretty good guitars. The MIM fenders are pretty much as basic as you can get for a guitar. They still work fine and sound pretty good. In my opinion, Japanese Fenders and American Fenders are pretty much the same build quality wise. The hardware might be a little better on the American, but not enough to make a difference to me.
